I succesfully had a bowel resection performed on me for colon cancer in 2002. I was diagnosed with adhesions and had had them surgegically removed in 2005. It was discoved during the surgery that I had reoccuring colon cancer and some lymph nodes were removed. Unfortuneately, the pelvic bundle of nerves were severed during the surgery, , and my colon can no longer make muscle contractions. Now my life is a living hell, and I have no bowel movements unless I take strong laxatives. The pain is unbelievable, making me feel like I have a stomache full of knives. I am almost completely incapitated, and can no longer work. I've been told there is no way to repair my colon, but I'm hoping someone here can offer an alternative. the Cancer has spread to my lungs, but the oncologist doesn't want to give me chemo because of my colon blockages. If anyone has ever suffered from something like this, I would like to hear how you dealt with it.
